My History

Mr. Andrew Nyombi focuses his practice on Commercial litigation, Civil litigation, Employment Law, taxation and Personal Injury. He is admitted to the United States Tax Court in Washington, DC. Mr. Nyombi considers himself old school in his work ethic and general approach to practice. He spends most of his work life enthusiastically engaging in complex high-stakes litigation in Federal courts around the country. The major litigation areas include business torts, civil rights actions, labor and employment actions, banking and negotiable instruments, complex cross-border contracts and general commercial litigation.

He clerked at the US Department of Justice, Civil Division taking part in handling complex class action litigation. Mr. Nyombi took a summer clerking at the Supreme Court of Uganda where he learnt about growth of jurisprudence, social justice and the application of the law to reformation of various aspects of society.

Mr. Nyombi set a precedent in US Federal law specifically concerning the application of the Fair Credit Reporting Act to the trucking industry while arguing as lead Counsel; See, Maiteki v. Marten Transportation Ltd, F. Supp. 2d, 2013 WL 6355923 (D. Colo. Dec. 4, 2013).The case was pivotal with regards to employment background reports in the trucking industry. The Court held that each re-report of allegedly false information in a consumer’s background report triggers a new duty to conduct a reasonable investigation, which in turn restarts the limitations period for an FCRA claim based on the failure to conduct a reasonable investigation. Mr. Nyombi has set other precedents while arguing in various cases in Federal Court.

Mr. Nyombi was awarded the Chancellor's List Honor by the Paul. M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University as a Graduate Scholar and was later called to Georgetown University Law Center's Graduate Taxation Program which he graduated in 2014. He was a Graduate Editor for the Journal of Civil Law Studies, CCLS, Louisiana. He is admitted to the U.S District Court for the District of Colorado, U.S District Court for the District of Columbia, U.S District Court for the Western District of Texas, and the U.S District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the state bars of Wisconsin and Maryland. He is a member of the exclusive and private United States Supreme Court bar. Further, he is a member of the bar of the U.S Circuit Court of Appeals (Tenth). Mr. Nyombi’ s other bar memberships include the American Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association. When not working, Mr. Nyombi enjoys travelling and appreciation of the natural world around us.
